Launching technology careers for individuals with disabilities and veterans.

abilIT is a 14-week program offered in partnership with Melwood, one of the nation’s leading advocates, employers, and service providers for people with disabilities and their caregivers. The program serves people with disabilities and injured veterans who already have a basic knowledge and understanding of IT to sit for industry-recognized certifications, then supports finding employment in IT, cybersecurity, or tech-adjacent fields. 

Launching Technology Careers

By combining hands-on technical training with personalized soft skills instruction, abilIT equips participants to sit for certification exams and step into entry-level IT roles. With nationwide placement support—including opportunities within the Defense and Intelligence Community—participants leave ready to build lifelong careers as competitive technology professionals.

Eligibility

We welcome candidates ready to grow and soar in their careers. To join the abilIT program, you should meet the following requirements: 

  • Education & Experience – High school diploma or equivalent. Some intermediate experience in IT or proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Residency – must be eligible to work in the US
  • Funding – Training is fully covered at no cost to accepted candidates
