ALULA Launches New Technology Career Program for Adults with Disabilities and Veterans
ALULA, formerly TVS, a mission-driven organization dedicated to uplifting people and businesses through purpose-powered programs, is proud to announce the launch of abilIT, a 14-week technology training program expanding access to high-growth careers for adults with disabilities and disabled veterans.
Offered in partnership with Melwood, a national leader in disability advocacy and employment services, abilIT combines hands-on technical instruction with personalized soft-skills development. Participants prepare for industry-recognized IT certifications and careers in IT support, cybersecurity, and other tech-adjacent roles.
“Expanding into a technology-focused training program allows us to serve our community in a powerful new way. Many adults with disabilities and disabled veterans in our area are eager for career pathways that offer stability, growth, and long-term potential,” said Carla Hill, Program Director. “abilIT gives them the tools, training, and support to pursue competitive careers that may have once felt out of reach. This program strengthens our community by opening doors for individuals to thrive economically and personally.”
The program has graduated more than 281 participants nationwide, with a 74 percent completion rate and an average placed wage of $20.11 per hour. Training is fully funded, and participants train to earn credentials such as CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+, preparing them for roles including help desk technician, cybersecurity analyst, and IT specialist.
“abilIT reflects the core of our mission at ALULA—opening doors to meaningful, sustainable careers,” said Jeff Luttrell, Director of People and Culture. “Reliable, well-paying jobs are vital to the strength of our community, yet many adults with disabilities and veterans face significant barriers in accessing them. This program creates a pathway to competitive careers in a growing field, giving participants the skills and support they need to thrive.”
Participants also receive career support, from resume building and interview coaching to connections with employers nationwide, including opportunities within the defense and intelligence communities.
To qualify, candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, basic or intermediate IT experience or Microsoft Office proficiency, and eligibility to work in the U.S. Training is fully funded, and all applicants must apply online.
Applications are now open for January classes.
